"REFERENCE ONE"

"Reference One" is the smallest preamplifier made by Angstrom Research, but you only need to look at it and listen to it for a moment to realise that, despite being encased in a single frame, this "baby" roars, showing personality, content and class. The circuit is completely monophonic and the basis lies in the use of valves both in the signal stage and in the power stage.
It is completely handmade and the whole circuit is wired up suspended, using high quality selected components, such as mil compliant AVG cables with Teflon insulation, very low tolerance resistances and the very best condensers.
Exceptionally high precision potentiometers and the input selector are among the best available on the market (Feme, Alps, Penny & Giles).
The decision to use a gain selector was made to guarantee extensive coupling flexibility and more personalised listening. The valves used in the signal stage are two 6N7 GT and two 6DJ8 (buffer for low impedance), capable of offering unquestionable musicality, characterised by tonal balance and a superlative level of neutrality, not forgetting the all-encompassing warmth of the valvular sound.

The heart of Reference One is its power stage, also completely valvular.
At first glance, considering its size and the dimensions of the transformers, it would appear better suited to an amplifier, but you only have to listen to realise that it's definitely not a waste of electricity or ostentation of materials.
The power reserve it reproduces guarantees stability and dynamics which send shivers down your spine. It's just perfect in every sense, from the control of mini-contrast, to reproduce and highlight even the tiniest details, to the pure and overwhelming dynamics, characteristic of certain musical works, doing justice to every kind of sound reproduced:
all this takes place without ruining the naturalness of the sound, with the aim of offering the possibility to listen without tiring yourself out.
Just like the other Angstrom Research products, "Reference One" is characterised by its imposing sound scene, which is expressed in terms of amplitude of image and in the separation of the instruments, obtaining perfect three-dimensionality and a reconstructive harmonious equality.
Particular attention has been devoted to the depth of the bass, highlighting concreteness, definition and control, without having to sacrifice the solid state for this range of frequency.
The result is an incredibly silent tube preamp with a really clean signal and dynamics, the typical clarity of valves and a full bodied sound, all with an impressive sound image.
