The preamplifier is one of the elements that determine the successful performance of a system.
It may appear superfluous because the system works without it, using a simple potentiometer to regulate the volume, but in actual fact this isn't the case.
A preamplifier is like the conductor of an orchestra, inasmuch as the orchestra can play without the conductor but would definitely be able to give its very best.
We all know that a good orchestra can only give its best when it's led by an excellent conductor and, just like an orchestra, a system needs a good preamplifier, capable of fully recreating the "ideal stage" in our listening environment, to maximise its performance.
ANGSTROM RESEARCH preamplifiers are designed to be excellent conductors, capable of dosing the energies of a system when necessary, adding a touch of class.
The amplitude of the sound scene, the three-dimensionality of the sound, the extension of the ranges, the musicality and control are the parameters which most attracted our attention in the construction of Angstrom preamplifiers. All the Angstrom Research REFERENCE preamplifiers are handmade, scrupulously selecting the materials used, wiring is carried out suspended point to point and valves are used both in the signalling stage and in the power stage.
Various versions are available with the possibility for customisation:
Reference one (single frame):
- unbalanced version
- balanced version with totally symmetrical circuiting
Reference 2 (separate power):
- basic version (unbalanced)
- version with polypropylene condensers
- balanced version with version totally symmetrical circuiting
Reference SE (separate power):
- Version with output transformers
Phono One (single frame)
Phono Two (separate power supply)
