With its 35 Watts in pure class A, the Reference Mono Amp expresses all the power, naturalness, dynamics and gentleness needed to pilot a good sound system.
To some it may seem excessive to others insufficient but in our opinion it strikes the right balance.
Here, we're talking about 35 watts supported and delivered by a fully respectable power supply rare in amplifiers with a nominal power ten times greater; a power supply which ensures stability, dynamics and character.
The audio circuit is based around the elegant EL 84 valve, each amplifier has no less than eight in a Push-Pull configuration.
Each amplifier has just one mixed reaction drive stage, in other words positive and negative feedback oscillating in just 2 Db.
The output transformers are the real feather-in-the-cap of the Reference Mono Amp and are built to our specifications in mu-metal with a double "C" nucleus.
The power supply which is entirely regulated and stabilised by valves, is divided to independently feed the final valves and the drive stage. The filaments of the audio valves are powered in DC with active double P-greek mode. All the components used are carefully selected and top quality while the connections are strictly point to point. As well as being harmonious the sound is simply extraordinary in all its parameters.
The scenic reconstruction is impressive as is the detail and transparency.
But the focalisation, three-dimensional nature and feeling of airiness perceived between the various elements making up the sound are not the only signs of excellence, it's all accompanied by a softness and body of sound which make it tremendously real. A sound which can be male and female at the same time, able to cover a range of dynamic subtleties which make it move the listener.
